We organise two mandatory days to ensure you are well-prepared for student life at VHL in the Netherlands.
Still getting used to your new surroundings and don’t want to participate in a week full of activities yet? We totally get that. In this case we only ask you to attend the mandatory introduction days in Velp. The programmes and dates for the 2026–2027 academic year will be announced in July 2026. Please keep an eye on this page.
The international student day and the study programme day are for all first-year students, regardless of whether you participate in the full introduction week.
International student registration at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, followed by breakfast and a mandatory international student orientation.
You will meet all first-year international students in person, and we will discuss everything you need to know about living and studying at VHL in the Netherlands: our student service point, where to register at the local municipality, how healthcare works in The Netherlands, how you can get a student sports card, a tour through the building, and much more. The schedule will soon be published.
On the study programme day you will meet your lecturers and classmates and kick off your study programme.
