Student support is available in various ways. You can approach student counsellors, study mentors, and counsellors.

Student counsellors can help you

Many things will change when you become a student: you may live in lodgings, you will make new friends, you will have to study independently; in short, you will have to personally arrange your life to an ever greater extent. This will generally work out fine, but sometimes you could use a little help.

A student counsellor provides information, advice, and guidance. This is done in a one-on-one conversation. As a confidential advisor, the student counsellor has a duty of confidentiality.

You can receive information, advice, guidance, or a second opinion on questions and problems related to the following topics:

  • Arranging (exam) provisions due to a disability/support need
  • Reporting any special circumstances in case of binding study advice
  • In case of doubt about study choice, lack of motivation, possible change of study, or study delay
  • Reporting illness, a disability, and other personal circumstances
  • Information about student financing, laws and regulations, education and examination regulations, complaints, BSA

In any case, go to the dean for:

  • Reporting special circumstances causing study delay
  • Applications for financial support for students
  • Advice on referrals for psychosocial problems
  • Advice on education in case of illness and disability

Students preferably make an appointment via the service point. This can be done at the desk in the central hall or by telephone (026 3695858). Students can also contact one of the student counsellors directly.

Walk-in consulting hours


You can find us in D204, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays, you can drop by without an appointment between 12:00-12:30.
