Students at VHL literally get all the space they need to conduct research for their studies. We have most of the facilities in-house. Below is the overview of all facilities.
VHL collaborates with public and private parties in so-called Living Labs. Here, research and innovation take place simultaneously according to the principle of co-creation and participatory design. New products are developed and at the same time end users' behaviour is influenced by being directly involved and given new opportunities.
The WAC is a fully equipped centre in which companies, knowledge institutions and other organisations can conduct experiments in the field of water technology. The WAC has the technological facilities and analytical instruments to perform chemical and microbiological analyses.
The EnvironmentLAB (OmgevingsLAB) is the knowledge hub on the operation and application of the Environment Act. Researchers, students, teachers and community groups (citizens, businesses, government, civil society) learn, co-create and experiment with each other. Together, they develop knowledge about the new law and make it applicable to local and regional practice.
The Food Technology and Application Centre (VAC) contains the most common unit operations (process technology) for food preparation. The VAC is in use for teaching and research purposes.
VHL has access to the ample research facilities and resources available at the Dairy Campus. Learning in a scientific environment includes a dairy herd, various physical dairy farming systems, water systems, manure processing and various experimental fields.
The Food Application Centre for Technology is a fully equipped research facility where companies, knowledge institutes and industry can conduct experiments (or have experiments conducted) in the field of food technology. New product and process concepts are developed.
