VelpBachelorFull-timeGreen BusinessFood and AgribusinessEnglish4 years

Do you enjoy travelling the world for international business? Would you like to discover which products and raw materials customers need for their innovations, or be proud of your contribution to the sustainability of the food chain?

This programme teaches you everything you need to know to succeed in business. You don’t need to know yet which role you want, whether in sales, marketing, logistics, or even setting up your own business. During the programme, you will explore all these areas. You will receive a standard business education with a specialisation in cross-border trade and the agrisectors, making you especially attractive to future employers.

In short

Why choose International Agribusiness and Trade?

  • You will build an international network through your international classmates, internships, and visits to trade fairs and companies.
  • You will gain specialist knowledge of the entire supply chain, from protein to energy bar, from mango to smoothie, from tree to desk.
  • The Netherlands is a global leader in agribusiness and trade. As one of the world’s largest food exporters, it has strong trade connections across Europe and beyond. With innovative solutions and access to major markets, it’s the perfect start for an international career.

What you will learn

What you will learn

To introduce innovations or optimise a supply chain, you’ll start by exploring the world of food, plants, and wood. You’ll learn about trade, production chains, distribution, and quality. International business also means looking across borders; you’ll speak English with classmates and lecturers and become familiar with different cultures.

You will work on topics such as marketing, management, logistics, and entrepreneurship, focusing on quality, food safety, waste reduction, and regulations governing the export of plants. Throughout the programme, you will develop personally by learning to collaborate authentically and with integrity, using your strengths to achieve your goals with respect for your surroundings.

  • Get to know the sectors by learning about the ingredients in pizzas and smoothies, flowers for Valentine’s Day, cotton for your new jeans, or wood for your skateboard.
  • Explore the journey of a food supply chain: from post-harvest to supermarket shelf.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary work by understanding the workings of an entire organisation so you can involve other departments in decision-making.
  • Delve into marketing and sales strategies, business models, and logistics flows.
  • Learn not only to focus on your own business but also how to prioritise the interests of the entire business chain.
After graduation

Earn your living with the International Business programme

Companies in international agribusiness are lining up for you! Thanks to the network you build during your studies, your practical approach, and your knowledge of sustainable agri-products, you’ll have a strong advantage in this sector.

You could work as a project manager, logistics team leader, buyer, or category manager. Perhaps a supporting role such as big data analyst, marketer, or supply chain specialist is more suited to you. Start-ups also need broadly trained food and agribusiness experts. Thinking of launching your own start-up? That’s possible too!

Companies are looking for people with courage, ambition, and boldness—those who can solve practical business challenges and have insights into future food products, sourcing locations, and efficient, waste-free distribution.
