The Dutch Meteorological Institute (KNMI) has issued a Code Red weather warning for Friday, 26 June, for most parts of the Netherlands, including the province of Gelderland, due to extreme heat.

All exams and assessments will continue as scheduled at the Velp campus. These activities were already planned in the most comfortable locations available. The measures previously put in place to help everyone stay as comfortable as possible will remain in effect.

Students and staff are welcome to study or work on campus. We strongly advise using one of the air-conditioned spaces whenever possible:

  • The regular library (Mediatheek) in Velp
  • Room D214 in Velp
  • The library (Mediatheek) in Leeuwarden

If you need or want to come to campus, please prepare for the heat and stay alert to its effects. Drink plenty of water, take breaks when needed, and look out for one another.

Please note that the Code Red warning currently does not apply to the province of Friesland.
