Growing as experts in transition

You can read how we are committed to a future-proof world in the institutional plan "Growing as experts in transition. From 2022 to 2025, VHL gives direction to education and research based on this document. We create this together with input from partners, students, alumni and VHL colleagues. These merged ambitions serve as the basis for policy plans and annual evaluations. A future-proof world requires changes. These can be reduced to four transitions. We - together with the field and the government - are making an important contribution to these transitions. A task that VHL is only too happy to carry out.

Four transitions

  1. Climate change requires major adjustments: a transition to adaptation (adjustment) and mitigation (preventing further change);
  2. Sustainable agriculture and food: a move toward a sustainable chain;
  3. Living well with water: a change to sustainable water management;
  4. Biodiversity and (animal) welfare in rural and urban areas: the transition to a sustainable environment.

Institutional Plan 2022-2025

With the Institutional Plan ‘Growing as experts in transition', we provide direction for our education and research for the 2022-2025 period. This plan is the articulation of VHL’s future and serves as a guide for our policy plans and annual evaluations. The plan was created thanks to the input of numerous partners, students, alumni and VHL colleagues.
