Arnhem as a student city

Arnhem has three universities of applied sciences: HAN University of Applied Sciences, Artez University of the Arts and VHL University of Applied Sciences (VHL). Together with the municipality of Arnhem, these three universities have joined forces to make Arnhem an even better student city. For example, there are initiatives in the field of accommodation (development of even more student houses), culture and sport and the universities organise one big joint introduction party. The initiatives take place under the name of “Arnhem Student city” and make Arnhem even more appealing for national and international students.

Student sports card

If you are studying at VHL, you can apply for a student sports card. For € 22.95 per month, you can do unlimited sports. Would you like to attend a spinning class on Monday with a friend in Arnhem-Noord, play squash on Tuesday in De Grote Koppel, dance on Wednesday, swim in Valkenhuizen on Thursday and kickbox in the centre on Friday? That is a realistic scenario; unlimited and anything on offer. No matter how many times you go! You can choose from over 40 different fitness providers with a range of group classes. There's always one near you. The sports providers are not only located in Arnhem and Velp. For the full range, it is best to regularly check the website, also because there will be more providers throughout the year.

Please note! If you purchase the student sports card and want to quit, you can only unsubscribe after three months. After these initial three months, a notice period of one month applies.
