Financing and funds

You will need money to achieve your entrepreneurial ambitions. The Green Entrepreneurship Centre (GEC) provides students who want to launch a start-up with insights, and, if necessary, with assistance in finding financing options.

It is obvious that you will go to a bank with your plans. But there are also other, more creative options. Sometimes these are related to the region where you live and the incentive schemes in this region.

  • Vouchers
Via the Orion Start-up Academy in the province of Gelderland, you will have the option of receiving an entrepreneur’s voucher worth €2,500. You will receive it when your business plan and pitch are credible.
  • Start-up loans
Start-up loans are available for young entrepreneurs in the Gelderland region. These are intended to finance innovative, scalable activities in the development, test and market launch phase. Loans of €10,000, 25,000 and 50,000 are available at a variable market rate. They will have to be repaid after one year – spread over two to three years. You can contact the GEC for more information.
  • Crowdfunding
Crowdfunding is the (online) raising of funds among small financiers. Crowdfunding is not ‘easy money’: it requires a conscious choice, good preparation and full commitment. There are various forms of crowdfunding, including donation-based crowdfunding or shares. The GEC will be able to assist you with this.
  • Qredits
Qredits is a non-profit organisation. Qredits offers attractive, low-threshold microcredit for (prospective) student entrepreneurs with a maximum of €50,000. You can find more information on the website of Qredits. The GEC can act as an intermediary for you.
  • Fiscal
As a starting entrepreneur, you will be able to use a number of interesting start-up benefits. This will give you a fiscal advantage. Visit the website of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration to find more information about this.
