When it comes to determining holidays, schools in the Netherlands are divided into three regions: North, Central and South. To avoid a holiday rush, vacation dates differ between these regions.
Some school holidays (Christmas, May vacation) are fixed, but the precise dates may vary between regions and schools.
Velp (Central)
- Autumn holiday: 16 October - 22 October 2023
- Christmas holiday: 23 December 2023 - 7 January 2024
- Spring break: 19 February - 25 February 2024
- May holiday: 29 April - 5 May 2024
- Summer holiday: 15 July - 25 August 2024
Leeuwarden (North)
- Autumn holiday: 23 October - 29 October 2023
- Christmas holiday: 23 December 2023 - 7 January 2024
- Spring break: 26 February - 3 March 2024
- May holiday: May holiday: 29 April - 5 May 2024
- Summer holiday: 15 July - 25 August 2024
